Exercise no. 30
Slump into your chair and lower your head so your chin is near your chest.
Now try to remember a time when you were happy.
Now try again, but this time:
Stand with your feet apart and relax your knees
Breath in deeply and hold your stomach in
Raise your head and lift your chin up slightly
Open your arms as if to embrace someone
Now remember a time when you were happy.
Notice how much more you’re energized and spirits lifted.
NOTES
As you can see, the state of your body affects the way you think. If you slump in your chair while at your computer, you are likely to feel down. So make the effort to sit up straight and take short breaks of physical exercise.
